Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to assist the CFO and Office Manager with key functional areas in the Accounting Department. This position will exercise independent judgement and discretion. It is expected that the strictest confidentiality will be maintained within the department.

This position requires someone who is thorough, patient and persistent. In addition, we are looking for an independent self-starter who has a methodical and systematic approach to getting their work completed. Under minimal supervision, the Corporate Accountant will create and maintain the accounting records for the company using the company’s software system. Reconcile all accounts as needed. Interface with outside accounting experts such as CPA, auditors, and bankers.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee and maintain accounting operations of the company
• Manage outsourced functions related to income tax preparation and audit
• Pay vendors
• Manage Advantage Service Agreements
• Coordinate payment of sales commissions
• Manage truck maintenance
• Reconcile key accounts
• Assist management in creating more efficient work flow
• Provide critical/sensitive accounting information to management
• Register equipment with manufacturer, including equipment bought from Advantage Service Company, parts and extended warranty information
• Manage and maintain Fleet listing, registrations, spreadsheet with truck tech assignments
• Ability to work overtime as needed

Principle Accountabilities:

• Ensure that accounts payable is properly recorded and paid in a timely manner
• Ensure that cost is recorded properly related to project costing
• Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed monthly
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

Reporting:

• Assist in preparation of financial statements by the 10th day following month-end
• Calculate variances for marketing from the budget and report significant issues to management
• Provide financial analyses as needed; job cost analysis
• Track the cash balance and alert manager with regular cash flow reports
• Reconcile bank accounts and perform account analysis on assets and liability accounts
• Prepare 1099s for application vendors

Transactions:

• Write checks through Successware; ASC’s accounting software
• Manage invoices received from vendors
• Record bank transactions as needed. Download bank transactions into bank accounts
• Record journal entries as directed by CFO

Compliance:

• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Coordinate the provision of information to external CPAs for income tax preparation

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years’ experience as a Corporate Accountant
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• A self-motivator with ability to run the books on his/her own accord
• Capacity and track record of engaging in detail-oriented activities and ensuring accuracy
• Capacity and enthusiasm to learn new systems
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• The ability to multi-task
• Creative problem solving and research skills
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work in an environment with multiple bosses with varying management styles
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire
• Physical attendance is a requirement of the position.
